  7. AmiSearch II is a powerful Aminet index handler. It can help
  8. you a lot with Internet files or Aminet CD ROM.
  9.  
  10. Version 2.1 changes :
  11.  
  12. At first the manual has been improved. Now let's see
  13. what have changed...
  14.  
  15.     1) New features
  16.  
  17.         - Added an output window for initialization error messages
  18.          (they could not been seen if lauched from WB).
  19.  
  20.         - Now when you click on 'Search' button it closes all popup and message
  21.           windows.
  22.  
  23.         - A new script named AS2Audio is included : it can copy/unpack modules/module archives
  24.           and automatically create a program for Deli Tracker.
  25.  
  26.         - Now you can decide if windows should be closed during database operations
  27.           or just disabled.
  28.  
  29.         - Improved installation scripts : the keyword DEFER allows you to store
  30.           AmiSearch II on a removable media (ex : a floptical) and the '"' have
  31.           been added to handle correctly directories with spaces.
  32.  
  33.         - Full icon tooltypes handling.
  34.  
  35.         - New index format : Aminet weekly file (slightly different from
  36.           RECENT files).
  37.  
  38.         - FTP and AmFTP outputs now allow to download .readme files.
  39.  
  40.         - New security test for database creation/update : it is now impossible
  41.           to entrer the same disk number twice (useful when you forget to change
  42.           the disk number).
  43.  
  44.         - When you double click on a found entry the choosen command is automatically
  45.           executed.
  46.  
  47.         - New security test for result window : when there are too many entries (so
  48.           the window cannot be opened) the list is automatically erased and the user
  49.           is warned.
  50.  
  51.         - The manual can be called from AmiSearch II with 'Help' key.
  52.  
  53.         - Improved installation script, allowing easy II -> II.1 updates
  54.  
  55.     2) Bug fixes
  56.  
  57.         - Fixed message windows bug (text in the wrong place).
  58.  
  59.         - Now the name for Aminet sets is correct.
  60.  
  61.         - Stupid bug removed for empty patterns recognition.
  62.  
  63.         - The filename pattern had a tendancy to be re-activated when it should
  64.           not, now it is fixed.
  65.  
  66.         - Message windows could not be closed with close gadget.
  67.  
  68.         - Empty files were not handled correctly, now they can be read without
  69.           generating an infinite loop (totally useless but safer).
  70.  
  71.         - There was a problem with pattern option ('at least one'/all patterns'), now
  72.           it works normally. I should stop coding in the middle of the night...
  73.  
  74.         - Small error in database creation error message fixed.
